Version History
Version 1.8 - Build 56 (8-27-2008) - Final Visual Basic 6 Version (see below)
- Update entire interface
- Moved User database onto main form. No more popup window
- Moved display users button onto new toolbar
- Added donation button/menu
- Added upgrade function (read below)
- Updated help file
UPGRADE NOTES:
- This updgrade needs to migrate some settings in the "settings.set" file. It will then delete that file and create a new one automatically, you do not need to do anything.
FINAL RELEASE NOTES:
- Because of an expired license control (which I do not have $700 to replace) that I was using from ComponentOne, I had to downgrade the control to an older version that doesn't expire. And because of that,
this release is the final version that will be developed in Visual Basic 6. We have already started to develop a new .NET version that will only run on WindowsXP and Vista that will include a much more robust upgrade with docking windows and everything (more info here)
- This final release will not be supported or developed after the release of the 2.0 (.NET) version.
Version 1.7 - Build 50 (11-22-2007)
- Updated info in help file and About windows to TechniPixel.
Version 1.7 - Build 49 (03-01-2007)
- Fixed a minor bug when double-clicking on two seperate buttons on the left button bar. The application closed when it wasn't suppose to.
Version 1.7 - Build 46 (12-21-2006)
- Fixed a minor bug. Clearing the logged in users list when a user checked for users in a different database that had a previous list of loggedin users displayed.
Version 1.7 - Build 43 (09-14-2006)
- Fixed a duplicate record bug. Users must delete your current "compnamedb.mdb" file and upgrade to the newer file in this release.
Version 1.6 - Build 37 (09-09-2006)
- Updated Print function by adding a "Print Options" window which allows you to choose which database or logged-in users list that you want to print.
- Added a setting that allows you to choose the file location of the User Name Database database. This will make it easier for more than one user of our program to store one database on a network instead of individual copies of the same database.
Version 1.5 - Build 28 (09-07-2006)
- Added function to display the Command Prompt using the "nbtstat" command which display who is in a database based on Computer name. This command is for network usage.
- Added a setting that allows you to either run the Command Prompt or display User Name (in User Database) when you double-click on an item in the "LDB User Information" list.
- Reworked the way the program saves and opens settings. All "*.set" files have to be deleted prior to upgrading to this 1.5 release.
NOTE: If you have version 1.3 (Build 25), you must delete all the ( *.set ) files in the application's root folder and start over. We had to rework all the setting files and how they store data. There has only been 3 downloads up to this point, so there are only a few of you.
Version 1.3 - Build 25 (08-26-2006)
- Fixed a couple of bugs
- Added a floating Auto Monitoring status window
- Added Help file.
Version 1.2 - Build 22 (08-24-2006)
- First Release (Developed in Visual Basic 6)

Known Issues
• After installing our application you may notice that your MS Access 2007 Database icons will change from Access 2007 back to Access 2003 icons if you had Access 2003 previously installed.
If you uninstalled Office 2003, it may not of completely removed the "filetype" for office 2003. The file type is what displays the icon. When you installed Office 2007, the registry set MDB icons to the default 2007 icons which is what it is suppose to do.
Our application makes a reference to two library files, Microsoft Data Binding Collection VB6.0 (SP4) and Microsoft DAO 3.6 Object Library. Our app does not install these two librarys. These two files are compatiable with 97 to 2003 access databases.
Windows then sees the DAO library reference and thinks there is an Access 2003 on your system.
Since you had 2003 at one time, it looks for the file type of Access 2003. Thus the changed icons.
When you run the Access 2007 database it may bring up the wizard to correct the file type and update your setup to a newer reference to the library's. It most likely added these two library's if they were not on Windows. This is normal with MS Access when Access needs these references.
There is no harm done, nor is there any corruption of any databases. This is normal. If you uninstalled our application after seeing this icon change. Install our application again after the Access wizard updates, and then everything (our app and any of your databases) should work fine.
